Diabetes is the world’s fastest growing chronic disease, which currently affects more than 537 million people. Alarmingly, this number is expected to rise to 643 million by 2030.

Diabetes is a serious & complex chronic disease, which can impact all parts of the body & significantly increases an individual’s risk of developing multiple comorbidities & conditions. Diabetes can have a substantial impact on an individual’s quality of life & is known to reduce life expectancy when not controlled well.

The good news is, Diabetes can be managed effectively through improved disease education (health literacy) & improvements in controllable health & lifestyle factors (self-efficacy).
